Cub Scout Family Camping 101

Our Pack camps out three to four times a year, and usually arrive Friday evening anytime after 5 PM and dismiss on Sunday morning around 10 AM. Families use their own gear, but there is usually a small supply of used gear if needed. We’ll send out an agenda and detailed information on the campout ASAP.

Look for Camp Out Sign Ups in the Newsletter and posted in GroupMe, and sign up ASAP.

During campouts, we have an agenda for the weekend that includes den activities on Saturday. We ask that all Cubs be present for the group clean before leaving camp on Sunday morning.

We eat together as a Pack, so you don’t need to worry about bringing food unless you want to bring a personal stash of snacks and beverages. We charge $15 per adult and $10 per youth for the weekend. You’ll see that charge hit your Cub Account.

All BSA Annual Health Forms A & B must be turned in for each human attending. All adults must be up to date on their YPT and BALOO online training prior to attending.

However, you will need to eat dinner on Friday before arrival and bring the following gear:

  • Field Uniforms

  • Pack Activity T-Shirts

  • Tent

  • Sleeping Bags & Pillows

  • Sleep Mattresses

  • Toiletries

  • Towels, washcloth, and shower shoes

  • Flashlights

  • Suncreen

  • Reusable water bottles

  • Mess Kits for each person - we do not supply plates, cutlery, etc.

  • Any kind of personal meds - epi pens, inhalers, etc.

  • Small First Aid Kit (optional)

Try to make your camping experience as enjoyable and comfortable for your Cubs so they learn to LOVE camping!

DO NOT bring screens for kids, alcohol, illegal substances, or firearms. Remember that we are modeling behavior always! No cussing or inappropriate humor. Smokers must find a location away from the camp and cubs.
